Uralla Shire is located in the New England High Country at the meeting of the New England Highway and Thunderbolt’s Way. The area has agriculture production in the form of merino sheep, vineyards, apples and other fruit.
The area is known for its history and heritage and is home to the statue of Captain Thunderbolt, an Australian bushranger.
