Narromine Shire is located on the Macquarie River. The Shire is known for its aeronautical history, with Australia’s only replica of a Wright Model A Flyer housed at the Narromine Aviation Museum.

The Shire also offers wetlands, lakes and wildlife in abundance, a historic gold mine and history dating back to Cobb & Co.
