Weddin Shire is located in the central west of NSW. The town of Grenfell is the birthplace of Henry Lawson and steeped in history with much of its old world character maintained.

The Shire has a strong gold mining history, boasting that the Grenfell goldfields were the richest gold fields in NSW during the late 1860’s.
