Georges River comprises the suburbs of Riverwood, Peakhurst, Kingsgrove, Penshurst, Hurstville, Mortdale, South Hurstville, Kogarah, Carss Park, Peakhurst Heights, Lugarno, Beverly Hills, Carlton, Allawah, Narwee, Oatley, Connells Point, Blakehurst, Beverly Park, Kogarah Bay and Sans Souci.

Georges River is close to Sydney Airport and the M5 Motorway, as well as the foreshores of Botany Bay and the Georges River. The LGA is served by Stoney Creek Road, Forest Road, King Georges Road, and the East Hills and Illawarra railway lines
